Alerts & client updates
The right alert, once, where you already are.
Approvals and deadlines reach you by push notification and email, with text alerts where enabled, plus a morning briefing and client update drafts.
Saves time: You hear about approvals and deadlines once, on the channel you picked, instead of checking four screens.
The problem
Why it's hard today
An attorney in a deposition does not see the approval queue. A paralegal on leave still gets every alert. Deadlines live on one screen and approvals on another.
Clients call to ask what is happening because nobody had time to tell them.
How it works
4 steps, start to finish
- 1
Choose your channels
Each person picks how alerts reach them: in the app, by email, by browser push notification, and by text where your firm has it enabled. One routing table sends each alert once.
- 2
Morning briefing
One numbered list of deadlines, approvals and held items, skipped when there is nothing to do. Push alerts carry a count and a link; the full list is in the app and email.
- 3
Escalation and quiet hours
A limitations or court deadline keeps climbing through your channels until someone acknowledges it. Non-critical alerts wait out your quiet hours.
- 4
Client status updates
A short update for the case's phase and the next date that matters to the client, in English or Spanish. No amounts and no predictions. It goes by email once approved.
Approval: Alerts go only to your firm's own people. Client updates are drafts the attorney approves word for word, and approving from a phone opens the app through a signed link.
Questions
Alerts & client updates: FAQ
Can McGee text our clients?
Not yet. Client updates go by email after approval. Client texting stays off until replies such as STOP can be received and honored.
Are the morning briefing and escalation on from day one?
No. Each firm turns them on in Automations. Statute of limitations warnings are always on.
Do alerts include case details?
Alerts outside the app carry a title and a link, not a case narrative. The details open in the app.
Start with one case. Keep the queue.
Open the sample firm and approve a records request, or set up your own workspace in a few minutes. Your firm signs our BAA in the app before any client records go in.
