Module 01 · McGee assistant
Ask the case file. Get an answer with a source.
Ask any case a question in plain English. Answers cite the document, page or ledger line they came from.
The problem
Why it's hard today
Half of a case manager's day is answering questions that are already answered somewhere in the file: when the MRI was, whether the 627 disclosure came back, what the PIP carrier has paid. Finding it means opening four folders and a spreadsheet.
Generic chatbots make it worse. They answer confidently whether or not the file supports the answer.
How it works
4 steps, start to finish
- 1
Ask in plain words
"What's missing before the Achebe demand?" from the case page, the global panel or your phone.
- 2
McGee reads the case slice
Only the matter you are in: its documents, records board, ledgers, deadlines and notes. Never another client's file.
- 3
Answers carry citations
Every claim links to the page, ledger row or docket entry it came from. If the file does not say, McGee says it does not know.
- 4
Actions become approvals
"Queue the follow-up" drafts the letter and puts it in the approval queue. McGee cannot send anything itself.
Approval: Reading is open to anyone on the case. Anything that would leave the firm goes to the approval queue.
Questions
McGee assistant: FAQ
Can McGee give legal advice to our clients?
No. McGee is a tool for your staff and attorneys. It is never pointed at the public, and anything client-facing it drafts is labelled as AI-assisted and waits for attorney approval.
What happens when the file doesn't have the answer?
McGee says so and tells you what it checked. It is built to park and ask rather than guess.
Does McGee learn from our cases to help other firms?
No. Your data is not used to train models, and each firm's data is isolated from every other firm's.
Start with one case. Keep the queue.
Open the sample firm and approve a records request, or set up your own workspace in a few minutes. Your firm signs our BAA in the app before any client records go in.
