The problem

Why it's hard today

One appellate opinion can change how a PI case is valued or tried. Most small firms hear about it from opposing counsel or at a seminar months later.

AI summaries of case law bring their own risk: a holding misread, or a citation that does not exist.

How it works

4 steps, start to finish

  1. 1

    Scan each week

New Florida Supreme Court and District Court of Appeal opinions, including rules amendments, are pulled from CourtListener and filtered against the Florida PI statutes.

  2. 2

    Read three times, verify twice

Each relevant opinion is analyzed three times, then checked by a separate verifier that must pass twice in a row. If the checks fail, the digest is held back.

  3. 3

    Matched to your cases

Opinions are matched to your open cases by case type and to the positions your firm has recorded, and the firm gets one notification.

  4. 4

    Library and memos

A shared authority library marked unverified until your attorney validates an entry, a do-not-cite list that blocks drafts, and memos that label each verified authority as helping or hurting.

Approval: Internal only. Nothing is sent outside the firm, and the digest is withheld when the verification checks fail.

Questions

Case-law monitor: FAQ

Does it cover new statutes from the legislative session?

Not yet. It covers opinions and rules amendments. Session laws are not in the feed.

Can we cite a research memo as-is?

No. Memos are drafts for an attorney. Unverified citations are marked, and an authority on the do-not-cite list keeps the memo from counting as verified.

Where does the digest show up?

In the app, on the Research page. A digest that did not pass its checks is not shown.

Start with one case. Keep the queue.

Open the sample firm and approve a records request, or set up your own workspace in a few minutes. Your firm signs our BAA in the app before any client records go in.
