Working the approval queue

How approvals work, who can approve what, and what happens when you approve, edit, reject or ignore an item.

What lands in the queue

Every item that would leave the firm: emails, letters, faxes, texts, records requests, calendar invitations to people outside the firm, and demands. Each item shows the exact content, the recipients, the checks it passed and when it expires.

Who can approve

  • Staff approvals: routine follow-ups and records requests, approvable by roles you choose.
  • Attorney approvals: demands, letters to opposing counsel and adjusters, and anything that could be the practice of law.

Approve, edit or reject

  1. Open the item and read the content and the checks.
  2. Edit if needed. Your edit becomes the version that will be sent.
  3. Approve to send exactly that version, or Reject with a reason so the draft can be improved.

Expiry

Items expire after 72 hours without a decision and are never sent. You can regenerate an expired item from the case.
