Module 03 · Deadlines & calendar
Deadlines counted from the rule, with the rule shown.
Counts deadlines from the Florida rules, shows the rule it used, and pushes confirmed dates to Google Calendar.
The problem
Why it's hard today
A missed deadline is the one mistake a PI firm cannot buy its way out of. Yet most firms still calendar by hand from a notice someone read on their phone.
The arithmetic is not hard. It is easy to get wrong at 6 p.m.: which day is day one, whether a weekend rolls forward or back, which statute of limitations applies to a 2023 accident.
How it works
4 steps, start to finish
- 1
Read the order or notice
Court orders, notices of hearing and served discovery are read when they arrive in the inbox.
- 2
Count from the rule table
Florida rules are data with citations. Day one is the day after service; your deadlines roll back off weekends and holidays, theirs roll forward.
- 3
Propose with the source
Each proposed date shows its rule or the quoted line from the document. No rule and no quote means no date: it asks instead.
- 4
Confirm and publish
A paralegal confirms, then it is pushed to Google Calendar and the firm's ICS feed.
Approval: Nothing reaches an external calendar until a person confirms the proposed deadline.
Questions
Deadlines & calendar: FAQ
Does it handle the HB 837 statute of limitations change?
Yes. For negligence claims the limitations period depends on whether the cause of action accrued before or after March 24, 2023, and the case clock uses the date of loss to pick the right one.
What if a deadline doesn't fit a rule?
It will not invent one. Without a rule citation or a quoted source line, the proposal is rejected and the item is flagged for a person.
Which calendars does it support?
Google Calendar push and a read-only ICS feed that Outlook and Apple Calendar can subscribe to.
Start with one case. Keep the queue.
